The inaugural programme was supported by the School of Humanities, NTU.

Speaking Of, Speaking With: Writing About Art in Southeast Asia

Organised a panel discussion and workshop held as part of the Singapore Writers Festival in 2019

“Speaking Of, Speaking With: Writing About Art in Southeast Asia” was a two-part project focusing on the craft of writing about art and the connectedness of literary and art worlds. The first part of the programme was a panel discussion between Roger Nelson, Shubigi Rao and David Teh, who reflected on the place of writing in their research, curatorial, artistic and translation practices.

The second part of the programme took the form of a short workshop co-facilitated with Kathleen Ditzig, with a guest talk by Wong Bing Hao. Participants were introduced to art writing for publication, technical strategies, and the ethics of writing about artists and their art.
